NUS-Hyflux Ltd Research Collaboration
The NUS Industry & Technology Relations Office (INTRO), signed an agreement for research collaboration with Hyflux Ltd, a home-grown, Singapore based company on 26 April 2005.
The collaboration spanning two years with Hyflux’s cash and in-kind contributions totalling some $800,000 will focus on furthering the frontier of knowledge in membrane, materials technology and their applications, specifically, membrane bioreactor applications which is currently enjoying popular adoption in an increasing number of industries including environmental, chemical and life sciences sectors.
For Prof Neal Chung, the lead researcher from the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department of NUS and holder of more than 60 patents, this collaboration marked yet another feather to his cap of industry collaborations, having previously worked with MNCs like BASF, Merck, Mitsui Chemicals and Universal Oil Product.
